◆ Swedish-born “Gotland Wool”!
The opening material for this year's first exhibition is Gotland sheep grown in Gotland, Sweden. Gotland is the largest island in Sweden, and its central Visby is a beautiful island that is registered as a World Heritage Site.
There are about 1.2 billion sheep in the world (2014. United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization), but about 80,000 Gotland sheep, less than 0.01%. KLIPPAN Slow & Stole using Gotland wool, which is thick, soft and glossy, with curly hair, will debut in Japan on 2019AW. The beautiful gray that makes use of the natural color of Gotland wool without dyeing and the pleasant touch are attractive.

◆ Eco wool or ego wool?
The number of sheep in the world is about 1.2 billion (2014) and is raised in more than 100 countries around the world. However, not all of them are comfortable and healthy for sheep. Many sheep live in harsh environments, such as scientific feeds that allow human egos to grow faster, breeding them in tight spaces, and lacking care when cutting their hair. At the request of customers, KLIPPAN began searching for wool that practices sustainability and animal welfare, and met Eco Wool produced by a sheep farmer in Banks Peninsula, New Zealand. In 2008, the first eco-wool blanket was introduced, replacing the mini-size blanket for babies with eco-wool.

◆ Eco-wool is a lamb wool produced in collaboration with about 20 farms in the Banks Peninsula, New Zealand. This collaborative organization, including some sheep farmers from six generations ago, is practicing breeding that allows sheep to live healthy and less stressful.

Reasons for eco-wool ① Not mulesing ② Minimizing insecticides ③ Feeds that do not contain antibiotics ④ Grow gently in lush grassland ⑤ Do not use bleach with environmental detergents

* Mule Thing: To cut the skin of the buttock of a lamb to prevent worm infestation. Recently, the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS), a voluntary global standard that addresses the well-being of sheep and pastures, has also been developed.

◆ KLIPPAN

KLIPPAN founder family 4th generation Josta Magnusson (current chairman), 5th generation Petter Magnusson (president), Panilla Ruth (vice president)

140 years since its establishment in 1879, KLIPPAN's fifth generation Josta Magnusson has been committed to “quality without compromise” for five generations, and clearly stated its commitment to its product manufacturing policy “natural fibers, sustainability, and animal welfare” The philosophy is inherited by the current master, Peter Magnusson.
KLIPPAN's wool blankets, throws and stalls are indispensable items for life in autumn, winter and spring. Light and warm blankets and throws with plenty of air can be found in bedding, sofa covers, outdoors and in the car.
The mini size is very popular as a gift for a baby, a rug, and a stall as a Christmas gift.

The material is natural fibers such as ecolum wool, lamb wool, merino wool, and gotland wool. Wool accounts for less than 2% of the world's total fiber production. The wool is a sustainable material that decomposes in the soil and returns to the soil. In 2008, KLIPPAN adopted New Zealand's “eco-wool”, a rare wool. Approximately 60% of all collections are used. In addition, all products are produced in factories that meet international certifications ISO9001 (quality) and ISO140001 (environment), and the slow production energy has been reduced by 50% over the past five years.
