What is the Kushiro region?
Located in the eastern part of Hokkaido, the region consists of eight cities and towns (Kushiro City, Kushiro Town, Akkeshi Town, Hama-naka Town, Shibecha Town, Teshikaga Town, Tsurui Village, and Shiranuka Town).
This region is blessed with high-quality ingredients nurtured by its abundant nature, with abundant fishing grounds where warm and cold currents meet, and vast dairy farming areas that utilize the grasslands on both sides of rivers that originate from beautiful lakes such as Lake Kussharo and Lake Akan. In addition to the development of seafood products using oysters and pacific saury, and livestock products such as cheese and ice cream, the region is also making progress in utilizing the Ezo deer resource.
