Over 30 Sapporo-based artists from a variety of genres will be performing!
This summer, Sapporo will be hosting a new outdoor festival called "MTG~Ma-I-I-Kara-Tekito-ni-Groove~." This event, which will bring a breath of fresh air to Sapporo's music and culture scene, will be held from July 5th (Sat) to July 6th (Sun) 2025 at the Benisakura Park Campground "Benizakura Outdoor Garden" in Sumikawa, Sapporo.
The purpose of this event is to support Sapporo-based artists from a wide range of genres and to create a space where different cultures can cross over and transcend borders.
In addition, with the concept of "a festival that proposes a chill style," it will provide a place where you can experience "what is chill?" through music, art, and encounters with people.

Background of the project
Two people from Osaka and Tokyo who had moved to Sapporo met in Sumikawa and hit it off. They decided to start this festival with the desire to "create something fun" that would allow them to contribute to Sapporo as immigrants from outside Hokkaido.

A festival that stirs up Sapporo culture and goes beyond one genre
This festival is the first full-scale outdoor music event in the Sumikawa area of Sapporo. More than 30 Sapporo-based artists from various genres are scheduled to perform. You can enjoy a "mixture" of music that transcends genre boundaries, including rock, hip hop, and reggae.
The stage sound on the day will be handled by Sapporo music studio "Coelacanth" and "MAWASHI RECORDS", which is fuelling Sapporo's reggae scene.
Coelacanth is a music studio known as an event venue that supports Sapporo's band scene.
MAWASHI RECORDS is active in Sapporo's reggae scene, and recently took part in an event hosted by Johnny Osborne at a club in the city.
The sound systems that each artist will be responsible for will liven up the stage on the day.
Furthermore, the appeal of the festival is not limited to music.
By having a wide range of cultures coexist in one festival, including food and drink booths, workshops, yoga, vintage clothing stores, and art, we create a space where people who would never have otherwise crossed paths can naturally meet and cross over through the event.

A new "chill" experience in Sapporo where all generations and genres mingle freely
This festival aims to be a forum for the crossover of Sapporo's diverse music and culture, without being limited to specific genres or generations.
The experience of "chilling" is not just about listening to music and drinking alcohol, but is also created by the atmosphere of the place and the flow of time. That's why we will provide content that allows people of all ages, from children to adults, to find their own way of "chilling."
For example, we plan to offer a variety of content, such as workshops and art experiences for children, a relaxing space for adults to enjoy craft beer and coffee, and even live music performances of a wide range of genres that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.
This festival will create a space where everyone can naturally mingle and "chill" together, regardless of age or genre.

A festival that supports Sapporo's music scene
We want this festival to not just be a one-time event, but to become a deeply rooted part of the Sapporo music scene.
We aim to create a venue that can be considered a stepping stone to a music career, one that will make artists active in Sapporo think, "If I'm going to play music in Sapporo, I want to first perform at this festival."
Furthermore, we hope that this festival will create a trend that will draw attention to Sapporo's music scene – that is our vision.
However, our goal is not to expand the scale of the event. We expect to have around 500 visitors per event, and we want to create a space where artists and audiences can enjoy a variety of cultures in close proximity.
As a place that supports Sapporo's music culture and connects it to the future, the festival aims to be a place that both artists and audiences will want to return to.
