The event will be held for 10 days from Friday, August 22nd to Sunday, August 31st, 2025, on the Toyohira River Horohira Bridge riverbed (left bank) in Sapporo.

This year marks the ninth year since the event was first held in 2017. Last year, over 40,000 visitors came to the event, bringing excitement to the riverside.
Japan has a tasteful culture of cherry blossom viewing in spring, moon viewing in autumn, and snow viewing in winter.
Among the tasteful customs that Japan has throughout the four seasons, there is no culture of "seeing" in the summer.
The Toyohira River is a first-class river that flows through the heart of Sapporo, a city of 2 million people, and boasts a wonderful location that preserves the beauty of nature despite being in the heart of the city.If you're lucky, you can even see salmon swimming upstream in the fall.
Spend precious time with your loved ones while watching the river flow and listening to its murmuring.
Such a location can be found in Sapporo. Kawami is held in this wonderful place every year after the Obon holiday.
A new Japanese phrase: "A good day for watching the river"

You can stay at Kawami all day.
The overwhelming presence of the Toyohira River and the never-ending natural background music and scenery have led many visitors to say that no unnecessary background music is needed.
There are over 10 food trucks and stalls lined up, so you'll never get bored of the food, no matter how many days you visit.
The empty-handed BBQ corner is a popular booth every year.
If it's too hot, I'll wade up to my ankles in the river, and if it rains, I'll take shelter under a bridge.
You can enjoy the cool air of nature in any weather except when it's stormy.
Spending summer at the riverside is a special and memorable time not only for adults but also for children, so please come with your family, friends, or even by yourself.
Experience the luxury of being able to stay where you want.
The riverside at night is the best.
A new summer tradition in Sapporo: the illumination of Horohira Bridge

Another attraction of Kawami is the illuminated Horohira Bridge.

The illuminated bridge reflected on the water is a beautiful sight.
Many people come to take photos, and the number of fans is gradually increasing, wondering if it will be lit up again this year.
The Toyohira River runs through the city center and residential areas of Sapporo.
I am confident that when the day comes when we can light up all of the bridges that connect the economy and daily life, this will also become a tourist resource that Sapporo can be proud of around the world.
