Urban aquarium "AOAO SAPPORO" launches new membership system for unlimited visits for 365 days! Three types of "annual passports" will start on Monday, July 1st

~Starting from the summer vacation, we will be selling a limited run of 4,000 passport cards designed by artist Shionoya Ayumi~

We are pleased to announce that AOAO SAPPORO, an urban aquarium in Tanukikoji, Sapporo, will be renewing its membership system, the Aquarium Club, from Monday, July 1st.

In order to allow visitors to enjoy the aquarium on a daily basis, AOAO SAPPORO launched a membership system called the Aquarium Club in December 2023, and has previously issued three types of passports*1 with validity periods of 90 days and 30 days.

In response to many customers' requests for a passport valid for one year, the current membership system has been revised and an "Annual Pass" will be issued, allowing unlimited visits for 365 days, from Monday, July 1, 2024. The new membership system will issue three types of passports: "Nichi Nichi Membership," which allows entry from 10:00 to 17:00, "Yona Yona Membership," which allows entry after 17:00, and "Ao Ao Membership," which allows entry all day.

In addition, starting Friday, July 19, 2024, an event called "Aquarium Illustrations AOAO SAPPORO" will be held by Ayumi Shioya, a popular artist known for his "Sento Illustrated" (Chuokoron-Shinsha) series. Four limited edition passport designs will be available with original illustrations of the scenery at "AOAO SAPPORO" printed on them, and the original illustrations of the four zones depicted on the passports will be on display.

About the new membership system for the Aquarium Club

The Aquarium Club is a membership system that allows you to enjoy the aquarium on a daily basis. Members receive priority access to hands-on programs related to the creatures and regularly held events, as well as special privileges on some of the menu items at Shirokuma Bakery &. Members will be issued an annual passport.

"AOAO SAPPORO Aquarium Illustrated Guide" 6F "PENGUINS"

Ayumi Shioya, an artist who gained attention with her "Sento Zukai" series, has drawn her first illustration of an aquarium in "AOAO SAPPORO." The warm touch of transparent watercolors shows the activities of customers and staff spending time in the four zones.

About Honami Enya

After working at an architectural firm and the Kosugiyu public bathhouse in Koenji, he is now active as a painter. He posted his "Sento Illustrated" series, which depicts public bathhouses using the architectural drawing method "isometric" and transparent watercolors, on social media, and published a book compiling the series through Chuokoron-Shinsha. He has created illustrations of a wide range of buildings, including restaurants, galleries, and teahouses, in addition to public baths. His books include "Sento Illustrated" and "Relaxed Like After a Bath." His favorite bath temperature is 43 degrees.
