The Patent Office of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry will hold an event called "Tsunagaru Patent Office" to support the use of intellectual property in business. In addition to introducing examples of advanced initiatives by local companies and support organizations, seminars will be held to raise awareness of the use of intellectual property. In addition, we will set up a consultation corner to answer various questions and concerns regarding the use of intellectual property in business.

  • The 2nd “Patent Office Connected” event will be held in Sapporo, Hokkaido.

    In Session 1, we invited Mr. Makoto Kobayashi, Representative Director and CEO of Cyclo Hygeia Co., Ltd., a specialist in SME/venture/startup support and management/intellectual property strategy consulting. We will introduce the financial strategy and give a lecture that will lead to the improvement of the value of Hokkaido regional companies.

    In Session 2, a company in Hokkaido that has successfully developed a new product through joint research with a university, a startup in Hokkaido that is engaged in the space travel business, and Hokkaido University, which actively promotes the creation of innovation in the region, will take the podium and discuss industry-academia collaboration. In addition to introducing the efforts of the Hokkaido region, we will disseminate information to the whole country about the advanced efforts of the Hokkaido region, including the perspective of intellectual property strategy, which is essential for companies and universities to proceed with joint research.

    On-site, JPO staff, INPIT intellectual property comprehensive support desk, Yorozu support base, and Japanese Standards Association support staff will set up a “consultation corner” where they can give advice on concerns related to intellectual property and management.
