[Cross Hotel Sapporo] "CROSS CINEMA DISCOVERY," an immersive event where "film" and "food" intersect, has announced its film lineup for 2026.
—Experience the worldviews of highly artistic and culturally significant independent and revival films through "food"—
Cross Hotel Sapporo (Location: Chuo-ku, Sapporo City, Hokkaido / General Manager: Naoya Mikami) has announced the screening schedule for its restaurant event "CROSS CINEMA DISCOVERY," which will be held in four sessions (two days each) from Friday, May 22, 2026 to Friday, February 26, 2027.

Expressing the world of a movie through food (an example from a past event)
"CROSS CINEMA DISCOVERY" is an experiential event held at the restaurant "Ash" inside the Cross Hotel Sapporo, where films are screened and dishes that resonate with the world of the films are served. It creates an immersive experience where film and food intersect in the space of a restaurant, neither at home nor in a movie theater.
This project is being implemented in collaboration with "Kinomado," a mobile cinema in Sapporo that screens films in diverse locations such as rooftops, campsites, and temples. Centered around films curated by Kinomado, the restaurant's chef will interpret the stories, historical context, characters' emotions, and the messages embedded in the works, and present them as a one-plate meal. The films to be screened will mainly consist of art-house films that reflect the cultures of various countries, as well as popular films that have recently gained renewed attention through revival screenings. This is not merely a reproduction of motifs, but a special event-only dinner that allows you to experience the worldview itself.
This popular series, which has been held 15 times since its inception in 2018, has a limited capacity of 30 seats per screening. Tickets often sell out immediately after reservations open, demonstrating the strong support of its passionate fans. In 2026, one film will be screened every four months, for a total of four films per year.
At Cross Hotel Sapporo, we offer encounters with "exciting Hokkaido quality" based on the concept of "NEW DISCOVERIES, NEW CONNECTIONS."
