The main carpet has been decided! Together with a total of 500 people, including local volunteers and people from the surrounding area, we will create a large flower carpet.
The "Flower Carpet" is an event where a large painting is created using flower petals and natural materials, and a large festival is held every two years in Brussels, the capital of Belgium. The first one was held in Sapporo in 2014 to commemorate the opening of Sapporo Kita 3-jo Plaza (Akapla), and this year marks the 11th time.
Together with a total of 500 people, including local volunteers and people from the local area, we will be spreading carnation and chrysanthemum petals across the square to create a colorful picture. Please come and see the colorful flower carpet.

Main Carpet Design
– Designers' Comments –
Vegetables, fruits, rice, wheat, dairy products, and seafood. With the rich "food" cultivated by people in a blessed natural environment as a frame, we drew a "tourist destination" where nature, industry, people and culture are rooted, and designed a flower carpet. The most important idea is the perspective of "tourism town development". It is not tourism to attract visitors, but for us who live here to create a town that is "good to live in". It is truly something that we ourselves must work on. This time, in addition to "Moere Numa Park" and "Sapporo TV Tower", the motifs are two towns that we are involved in designing, "Biei Town", a beautiful hill town woven by agriculture, and "Teshikaga Town Kawayu Onsen", the forefront of tourism and town development. Why not think about the future of food and tourism that is unique to Hokkaido, which balances rich nature with healthy living?

There will be a gallery displaying photos of past carpets, as well as a pamphlet corner promoting the beautiful flower scenery of Sapporo and Hokkaido.

We will be holding a sale of cut flowers made from flowers grown in Hokkaido (limited to 600 flowers).

Kids Free Walking
