“Disaster Preparedness Festival” to be held at Polaris Sapporo® on August 31st

~An event themed on "earthquakes" where participants can have fun while learning about disaster prevention knowledge that will be useful in the event of an "earthquake" disaster

Altius Link Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Takashi Amino; hereinafter referred to as Altius Link) will be holding a Disaster Preparedness Festival on Saturday, August 31st at its BPO and contact center facility, Polaris Sapporo, where local residents can have fun while learning useful knowledge in the event of an earthquake or other disaster.

In recent years, large-scale disasters have occurred all over the country, and while awareness of disaster prevention has increased with each incident, the rate of self-help efforts, such as securing furniture, has remained flat. *1 In addition, in a public opinion survey on disaster prevention conducted by the Cabinet Office in 2022, of the 36.9% who answered that they had never discussed how to respond to natural disasters with their family or close friends, 58.1% cited the reason being that they had not had an opportunity to discuss the matter. *2 These survey results call for society to strengthen efforts to encourage people who have not yet taken steps to prepare for disasters.

"Polaris_Sapporo" has adopted DCP*3 as a company, which is a way for the whole community to help each other, and has set up smartphone charging booths in the event of a disaster, and has established a system to provide them to local residents, hoping to provide peace of mind and strength to the local community in times of emergency. This event is being held with the aim of raising awareness of Altius Link's efforts among local residents, as well as providing an opportunity for them to learn disaster prevention knowledge and discuss disaster countermeasures with their families and close friends.

This event will have a variety of content with the main theme of "earthquakes." Kagome Co., Ltd., Horika Foods Co., Ltd., and Morinaga & Co., Ltd. will introduce delicious and nutritious emergency food products, and the KDDI Engineering corner will display an in-vehicle base station and allow visitors to try operating the antenna. There will also be an experience and game corner where children can participate, allowing everyone from children to adults to have fun while learning about disaster prevention. Please invite your family, friends, and neighbors to come and visit.
