Schmatz, a restaurant serving authentic German craft beer and German cuisine, will open its first store in Hokkaido, Schmatz Sapporo Stellar Place, on Saturday, November 30th.<\/p>\n

Schmatz was started as a food truck in Tokyo in 2014 by German childhood friends Chris and Mark, who were in their 20s at the time. This new concept German restaurant became hugely popular among young people as a "casual German restaurant."<\/p>\n

In addition to original craft beer brewed in Germany, where the restaurant originates, Schmatz Sapporo Stellar Place also offers tapas that go well with beer and are packed with the essence of German cuisine. The restaurant also offers an expanded range of pasta and grilled dishes, as well as limited menu items using ingredients from Hokkaido.<\/p>\n
