We are pleased to announce that AOAO SAPPORO, an urban aquarium in Tanukikoji, Sapporo (located in Chuo-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido; Director: Masao Yamauchi), will be holding two special exhibitions of creatures themed around red and green starting Thursday, August 1, 2024.<\/p>\n

The two special exhibitions are "Reptiles and the Wonders of Life," which will feature seven new species of "lizards," and "Eric Carle and the Wonders of Life," which will feature a collection of land and sea creatures drawn by Eric Carle. Prior to the opening, AOAO SAPPORO held a public unveiling event for customers during business hours.<\/p>\n

In addition to unveiling for the first time the seven new display tanks installed in the "GREEN ROOM" on the 6th floor, the zoo also showed the delivery of a Guyana caiman lizard, a large reptile with a red face and green body, measuring approximately 60cm in length, as well as showcasing for the first time six species of lizard that will be on display.<\/p>\n

Local children were also given the opportunity to try out the "Let's Play with the Very Hungry Caterpillar Collage!" experiential program, which used the work of Eric Carle, characterized by its "red face and green body," and sampled drinks such as the "Red and Green Very Hungry Lizard Sherbet," which was based on the theme of "red and green."<\/p>\n
