To commemorate Hello Kitty's 50th anniversary, Sanrio Co., Ltd. will participate in the Sapporo Snow Festival, a major winter event in Sapporo (duration: February 4th to February 11th, 2024), and will hold a special event at the Sapporo Snow Festival Odori. A snow sculpture with a “Hello Kitty 50th Anniversary'' design is on display at the 11th Street venue. The day before the opening, Hello Kitty visited the snow sculptures and also appeared at the opening ceremony of the International Snow Sculpture Contest held on 11th Street to cheer on the contestants. <2024 International Snow Sculpture Competition><\/strong><\/p>\n

The International Snow Sculpture Contest, which started in 1974 (25th edition), is a contest in which teams from countries, regions, and cities around the world compete to create snow sculptures. Unique, international snow sculptures are created during the Snow Festival, and this is a very popular event where you can see up close the process of making stone statues, the only one within the Odori venue. Hello Kitty also appeared at the opening ceremony held on February 3rd. We encouraged the teams from each country participating in the International Snow Sculpture Contest and presented them with bouquets of flowers together with the Sapporo Tourism Ambassador Friends.<\/p>\n
